ART DECO XMAS DINNER AT ST JOHNSTONE CRITERION HOTEL - 7 Dec 2011
 
A warm ending to a busy year with our Xmas dinner held in the Criterion Hotel, St Johnstone. The food was superb, plenty thereof and well prepared. The dining room is in Art Deco which for us was a complete surprise. It has been a while since we were able to look at traditional flying ducks vases on the wall. Merry Xmas to everyone and have a great New Year.

Letter to the Editor
Art Deco had their Christmas Party in the Art Deco themed dining room at the Criterion Hotel South Johnstone. What a meal it was!
The dining experience hosted by Shirley & Mick began on entering the room. The air conditioned function room was decorated with chandeliers, lace curtains, wall vases, heavy cut crystal glassware, damask table cloth, bone handled cutlery, chipendale chairs & fine English china.
The 5 course hot & cold meal complemented by Tin Forks sauces was world class. The evening ended with desserts including cognac infused plum pudding, brandy crème brulee, a cheese platter with port & coffee.
We shall definitely be returning.

NEW JUBILEE BRIDGE OPENING - ART DECO INSPIRED
Saturday morning on the 3rd September, 2011, the new Jubilee Bridge was opened. It was a project delivered on time, encapturing the Art Deco spirit of Innisfail.

THOMAS RYAN - ART DECO PICTURE PRESENTATION
A presentation by photographer Thomas Ryan, of art deco material he has acquired from his travels. It is a very impressive collection. It will be held at the Cassowary Coast Community Service Centre, in Donald Street, Innisfail at 14:00 on Sunday June the 19th. Afternoon tea is provided.
