Prominent Art Deco Buildings

Australia is proud of the many art deco buildings that exist throughout the country. They add to its beauty as well as history.

A Beautiful Collection

One of the many things that make these buildings so impressive is not only their architectural beauty but their uniqueness. There is something specific to enjoy each of them. Some of them provide the opportunity for visitors to take some time to sit and enjoy online entertainment like Playamo by using their mobile devices.

Mt. Druitt Hospital

Some when they think about art deco buildings may narrow down their thinking to that this only applies to buildings like museums or buildings of public interest. The design of the Mt. Druitt Hospital debunks this. This building was constructed in New South Wales as one of the new health system approaches. It was compute designed. The premise was on the saving of time via travel from floor to floor. The success of the structure shows that a two-storey hospital can function more effectively compared to a six-floor building.

University of the Sunshine Coast Library

This was a building that was completed in 1996 and is a prize-winning structure. It takes what a traditional library once was to a whole new level. The architects responsible for this are Lawrence Nield who worked in tandem with the architects from John Mainwaring. The internal components of the building were designed to allow for open space that allowed for clear viewing of the campus.

Art Deco Towns

While many of the regions throughout Australia are pleased to have one or two buildings that depict art deco, Tropical North Queensland is home to the provincial town of Innisfail. Here one can see whole collections of art deco buildings that are becoming a central focal point. What adds to the interest of this is the different styles which are comprised of French and Spanish.
